Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) pork shoulder or pork butt, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Step 1. In a bowl, mix the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
- Step 2. Add the sliced pork to the marinade and toss well. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes while you prep the other ingredients.
- Step 3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Step 4. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan and cook until the onion starts to soften, about 2-3 minutes.
- Step 5. Add the marinated pork and cook, stirring frequently, until the pork is cooked through and starts to caramelize, about 7-8 minutes.
- Step 6. Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
- Step 7. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
- Step 8. Serve the spicy pork over steamed rice.
